Introduction: Worlds Longest Baby Blankie EVER?!
I started this blanket when my 16 year son was in 2nd grade. He's in 11th now. I was taught he technique from his teacher . It's a modified Tunisian Crochet , using a regular hook and one color at a time. The time wa sright to finish , since friend's of ours are expecting a baby boy shortly. Mrs. Groskin would be proud!

OMG! My ex-mother-in-law taught me a similar pattern, the only difference being that I work from the center out in rounds instead of stripes/rows. Oh, and I use two strands of yarn for some colour variation. I haven't seen anyone else that has made afghans like this until now. Like you, I started one for a friends baby but didn't finish it until 5 years later when my own son was born. I'm working on another right now, and am due with #2 in October, so we'll see if I get it done!! These blankets make a great gift because they are super-sturdy. My son's has been washed hundreds of times and it goes everywhere and it still looks as good as the day I finished it. Nice work!

Thanks so much! Your pattern sounds really great. I love the idea of working the two strands for color variation. I've never seen anyone work this patern either. It's like a secret recipe! I hope you finish your blanket in time for you new babies arrival - I wish you a happy baby and a very short labor!

Wow! That's a really cool blanket. Really long, and the squares look cool like that. Nice job!
