Introduction: Your Old Christmas Tree = a Kitchen Tool
A Happy New Year with great instructables!
After the winter holiday, came the time to think "what am I doing with my Christmas tree?". If your Christmas tree was a real wood one, not a plastic one, this instructable will show you how to make a nice kitchen tool, a manual mixer.
Tools needed (I cannot name them since you can use many of them):
-something to cut the trunk of the Christmas tree
-something to shave the needles
-something to shave the bark
Materials needed:
-an old Christmas tree
Let's start!

Tools needed (I cannot name them since you can use many of them):
-something to cut the trunk of the Christmas tree
-something to shave the needles
-something to shave the bark
Materials needed:
-an old Christmas tree
Let's start!
Step 1: Cut the Top of the Christmas Tree
Cut the top side of the trunk right under the place where the last branches are attached, under the hub - cut on the red line on the picture.
The top of the Christmas tree is useful, the rest may be trashed or used as fuel for fire (check here how to do it ).
This operation can be done with many tools and in many ways - that is why I said "something to cut the trunk of the tree" at the Tools needed part.

Step 2: Clean the Top of the Christmas Tree
The branches from the top of the tree must be trimmed out, try to live there only what you can grasp in your hand, the excess will be cut.
The needles and the bark must be removed from the top of the tree also.
Due to the fact that the Christmas tree started to dry, the needles can be removed quite easy. It can be done with bare hand (have a protection glove) or using a knife as a razor blade. After that, it is needed to remove the bark.
I kept a glass bottle from the New Year champagne and I brake it now. I took a chip / part of it, choose one with a sharp edge. Put the chip on the trunk of the tree and the edge will be perpendicular, in this way you can shave the bark. Or you can use sand paper as well, a knife and so on. The picture shows the way to shave the bark - be aware of the sharp edge!!!

Step 3: Final Details for the Kitchen Tool
After the bark was removed, pay attention to the hub where the branches are attached to the trunk, there you need to remove carefully the bark as well, to smooth the edges.
Use a small knife, the glass chip - many ways you can do it.

Step 4: Dry and Use the Kitchen Tool Made Out of Our Old Christmas Tree
I recommend 4 to 6 weeks of drying the kitchen tool somewhere indoor. After that, you can try it!

Enjoy and happy cooking! :)
