Intermediate Level

Welcome to the world of 3D printing! In this class, you will build on your knowledge. You'll start with printing a useful tool to help you predict the accuracy of your prints so your designs will work. Next, you'll learn how to measure and recreate physical objects in 3D so that you can design new objects around them, then you'll learn about printing with support structures. With this class and enough practice, you'll be a pro in no time. This class is the next level after Beginner 3D Printing.

Fusion 360 Web App

The browser-only version of Fusion 360 is finally live! You can now sketch, 3D model, and export files for 3D printing all in a web browser (Google Chrome probably works best). If you already have a Fusion account, just go to your projects and click on any project, then click the + New > Fusion Design.

This class is not currently accepting new enrollments. The Classes feature will be retiring soon, but class content will remain accessible.

Jonathan Odom is a full-time Designer at the Instructables Design Studio (best job ever). His background is in residential architecture, film set design, film animatronics, media arts, exhibit design, and electronics. He's been 3D printing and 3D modeling for over 10 years, and he applies these skills to making toys, lamps, art, furniture, and a lot of other things.
