This is a very interesting project, I just wish I knew what it was about... Could you please add a little more description to your build and process?

Looks like the OP found an ancient iNFRA 1800.

Creative labs released this CD-ROM drive, with credit-card controller, way back in 1997.

By hooking up the 5 and 12V power regulators, and using part of an old computer case, they have added music to their otherwise spartan vehicle interior.

Step 4 looks like they may have added something similar to http://goo.gl/fQcnp for sound output.
