Overview

UPDATE: Contest extended to November 28!

We know you love to build things, simple or complex, and Autodesk wants to help you document and explain them in innovative new ways - think Instructables 3D!

What can you build that moves? We've teamed up with Autodesk to bring you the Kinetic Sculpture Design Contest, with some great prizes to inspire you to build and document something truly amazing.

To enter the contest, submit a new Instructable that shows how to create something, anything that moves. It can be powered by batteries (a robot!), the wind (a mobile!), a loaded spring (jack-in-the-box!), a human (bikemod!), or anything else you can imagine. It can be useful or useless, or even a complex Rube Goldberg contraption. Make something awesome, and you could win the first prize package: Autodesk Inventor and Inventor Publisher!

Planning and designing out a project with 3D CAD software is certainly helpful, but Autodesk Inventor takes you beyond 3D to Digital Prototyping to help you design, visualize, and simulate your complete product.

Then use your 3D models in Inventor Publisher to easily create interactive, step-by-step instructions that helps you explain how to use, assemble, and fix them.  And with the new free Inventor Publisher Mobile Viewer app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, you can publish those instructions and share your instructions with anyone to interactively view and experience right at their fingertips - in 3D!

You’ll never think of instructions quite the same way again!

So get out there and start making something awesome that moves! We can't wait to see what you create.

Multiple entries are accepted, but each entrant can only win one prize. International entries are accepted.
