needle
bowl with water (non metallic)
toilet paper

Step 2: Magnetized the Needle

hit needle against the magnet two or three times

Step 3: Put Toilet Paper in the Surface of Water and the Needle Over the Paper

Step 4: Final

wait the paper submerge and the needle will float on the water.
the head of the needle will point to the north
