Step 1: Materials

You will need :
a Kung Fu Kidz or Kung Fu Boyz toy or something like it. Try Ebay or Google it. (Something voice activated should work)
Trigger/Timekeeping Movement ask for the medium shaft length 15/16"
some wire, I used a cheap thin speaker wire.
Cardboard
X-acto knive
scissors
Electrical Tape
Paint
Printer to make the clock face
Hot glue gun
Adhesive Velcro optional
Screwdriver
wire snippers or you can use scissors also.
and any materials you like for decoration purposes (I used quilting pins and the pin holder, toothpicks ,Sculpey Clay, etc)

Step 2: Getting Started : Making It Your Own

Decorate your Kung Fu KId and way you like or leave as is .
I chose to make mine a devil boy with wings and a tail .
The wings where made free hand with thin cardboard insert and painted and the tail was made using Sculpey Clay.
If painting the entire figure as i have done please be careful not to glue the joints with the paints or get any in the mechanical parts.

This is your chance to make it your own. So put your stank on it.:-)

When everything is dry and/or set turn on Kung Fu Kid and test to make sure everything is functioning probably.

*I purchased my Kung Fu Kid at Walgreens it was on the markdown shelf and when i go it home he batteries were corroded and leaking so i removed the battery compartment and connect a 9 volt battery.

Step 3: Making the Clock Face/stand

You can use a pre made box or make your own.
i made my own using scrap pieces of cardboard and hot glue. The dimensions are 4"L x 3"W x 5"D .

Cut a 13" x 4" and Two 3" x 5" pieces of cardboard.

Score the 13" x 4" piece of cardboard 5" from each end and bend in a U shape. The Two 3 x 5 pieces will be used as the sides.

use hot glue or white glue to connect to sides .

When finished you will have a box with an open end. Trim any excess cardboard to make it level.

Download clock face template (4" diameter)

Position and center so that clock hands don't drag , you can trim the clock hands also to achieve this effect.
You can use a pin or nail to hold face in place and poke hole for the clock shaft.

When everything is centered poke a hole use a pin remove clockface, then use a pencil to widen and finally a Sharpie . You can use the Xacto as well.

Now you can paint or decorate your stand/box.

Let dry

Step 4: Preparing the Trigger

Now that your items is decorated it's time to insert the Trigger/Timekeeping Movement inside the box.

Put some glue on the back of clock face and line up the holes

Put on clock face

Put movement inside box and poke shaft through the hole.

Screw on shaft nut

Put a hole in the top of the box near the edge and thread trigger wire.

Step 5: Connecting the Trigger

Remove bottom cover including the battery cover. If no screws or difficult you can use a Dremel type tool or saw.

BE CAREFUL GEARS INSIDE if they fall out just put them back in

Drill a hole in the bottom cover .

Locate microphone and disconnect wires (Yellow wires in my case). and thread through the hole in the bottom cover.

Connect trigger wires (blue wire) to the microphone wires (yellow wire) and secure with electrical tape.

Step 6: Secure the Kung Fu Kid

Cut Two 3" strips of adhesive velcro.
Place on each side of the top of the stand.

Put clock hands on. Advance clock from the back until you hear a click, Put clock hands on set to 12:00.
You can also use the minute hand to advance the clock but you have to remove them again to calibrate the trigger.
