It's Winter and my lips are just not happy. They're constantly dry from the cold and lipstick just doesn't go on the way it does in the Spring and Summer. And I can't live without my lipstick! With Christmas just around the corner I'm going to need my lips in tip top shape for that perfect Holiday Red Lip.

Thankfully today's instructable is super easy and cheap! You probably already have most, if not all, of the supplies needed for this already lying around the house!

You'll need:
Lip balm / petroleum jelly / Vaseline / or something of that nature (There has to be at least one of these lying around somewhere)

And an old toothbrush

See? That's all you need! It doesn't get any simpler than that! If you don't have an old toothbrush, you can most definitely use a new one. You know, the ones you get from your dentist to thank you for your time in their chair? ;)

Step 1:

Step 2: Apply Lip Product

For this step I chose to use Mentholatum because I wanted to feel that minty cool on my lips.

Apply ample product on your lips - a little more than what you would put on your lips normally.

Let the product sit on your lips for about 2 - 5 minutes. If you're in a rush you don't have to wait.

Step 3: Scrub

Take your toothbrush and start working it SOFTLY AND GENTLY in circular motions. Scrub for no longer than 20 seconds on either lip.

Tip: I like to wet the bristles of my toothbrush before scrubbing to soften them up.

Step 4: Moisturize

Immediately after scrubbing rinse lips and use a tissue/soft cloth to wipe off any residue and dead skin that is on your lips/toothbrush. Pat dry and immediately apply lip balm/Mentholatum/Vaseline (anything of that nature).

Enjoy this once every couple of days or right before putting on that bold lip and we're all set for the Holidays!
