What is all purpose baking mix, I'm not sure I've heard of that before?

Thanks so much!! In my store, you can find it right next to the flour and corn meal. It consists of flour, baking powder, salt and shortening, so it's an easy way for people to make biscuits and pancakes with..I would think bisquick is probably the most name-brand of baking mix, but there are tons more to choose from.
