Step 1: Preparing Paper

Rip paper out of sketchbook or notebook. Cut off fringe using the paper cutter (or ruler and exacto knife). Cut several papers at once (5 of less) to save time. The number of pages in the book is optional. We bought a sketch book that had 80 pages, so we put 20 pages into each book.

Step 2: Cutting Pages

Cut papers (5 or less at the same time) to fit into comic book. Number of pages in total is up to individual.

Step 3: Measuring and Hole Punching

Put 5 pages into the comic book and hole punch. It’s important to mark off where the holes are, so additional pages will line up.

Step 4: Support for Cover

Cut and hole punch the cardstock to use for cover.

Step 5: Spray Adhesive

Use spray adhesive for the cardstock and the comic book cover to reaffirm it. Do this in a well ventilated area.

Step 6: Binding

Cut hemp string and tie the pages into the book

Step 7: Waterproofing

(OPTIONAL)

Spray fixative to make a waterproof sealant

Be sure to do this in a well-ventilated area.
