Sorry for such a long pause, but here is a little bat I whipped up. He is a super quick project, I had him done in under two hours and that was even with backtracking. I did, unfortunately give mine two slightly different colors of buttons. I will be painting them over when I have the paint to do so. Until I can update the picture, just imagine it with matching eyes.

Step 1: Needed Materials and Used Stitches

Needed Materials:

black yarn (I used Simply Soft)
a G size crochet hook
scissors
yarn needle (optional)
hot glue gun
black felt
white felt
two black buttons
sewing pins (optional)

Used Stitches:

magic ring (mr)
single crochet (sc)
increase (inc)
decrease (dec)

Step 2: Creating the Head

sc 6 in mr

Round 1: inc in every stitch around (12)
Round 2: *sc in 2 stitches, inc in 2 stitches* repeat from * to * around (18)
Round 3: *sc in 3 stitches, inc in 3 stitches* repeat from * to * around (27)
Rounds 4-7: sc in every stitch around
Round 8: inc in 3 stitches, sc in the remaining 24 stitches (30)
Round 9: sc in 1 stitch, inc in 3 stitches, sc in the remaining 26 stitches (33)
Round 10: dec five times, *sc 2, dec twiceo* repeat from * to * three times, sc 1, dec twice (20)
Round 11: *sc in 2 stitches, dec once* repeat from * to * around (15)
Round 12: *sc in 1 stitch, dec once* repeat from * to * around (10)

Stuff the head firmly. Finish off, leaving a long tail; string the tail through the remaining stitches and tug gently closed. Pull the tail into the head.

Step 3: Creating the Ears

Draw out a house like shape on a piece of paper. Hold it up the head and trim the shape or draw out new ones until you are satisfied with it. Either pin or hold the piece of paper to the felt and cut two ears. Place a small dab of hot glue in the middle of the bottom portion of the ear and pinch the two ends together.

Step 4: Creating the Body

in a mr, sc 8

Round 1: inc in every stitch around (16)
Round 2: *sc in 1 stitch, inc in 2 stitches* repeat from * to * five times, sc in the last stitch (26)
Round 3: inc in 1 stitch, sc in 4 stitches, inc in 1 stitch, sc in 5 stitches, inc in 1 stitch, sc in 4 stitches, inc in 1 stitch, sc in 6 stitches (30)
Rounds 4-7: sc in every stitch around
Round 8: *sc in 3 stitches, dec once* repeat from * to * around (24)
Round 9: *sc in 2 stitches, dec once* repeat from * to * around (18)
Round 10: *sc in 1 stitch, dec once* repeat from * to * around (12)

Finish off and stuff firmly. Weave in the tail or tuck it into the stuffing.

Step 5: Creating the Wings and Fangs

Wings:

Cut a pattern that looks vaguely like an umbrella as shown. Hold it against the body and play with it until you are satisfied with it. Use the pattern to cut out two wings out of the black felt.

Fangs:

Cut two small triangles out of white felt.
