Introduction: PVC Bait Launcher and 1st Test Launch

About: See website for more details! :)

A DIY on how to build a PVC Bait Launcher or Bait cannon (Video on Step 2), and a test launch at the end. Also, how to make the frozen bait bullet I use to launch my bait. This launcher uses compressed air to launch the bait out while fishing in the surf, etc.. With a small vehicle air compressor with a 250psi rating. Featuring Mr. Slacker and Flip Masters. This is a tutorial with some comedy. Thanks for watching and don't forget to click that like button and Subscribe for more content.

***A word of Caution***

*** These compressed air bait launchers are not Legal in every State. So, check with your local state, county, and city for regulations on the use of these launchers. It is always good practice to check with your local law enforcement and/or Fish and Game on laws regarding compressed air bait launchers, If you can own one, where to use it, and/or if it is legal in your geographic location.

Disclaimer: ***Build these at your own risk. We are not responsible if you build a bait launcher, or for what you do with your bait launcher. You take all responsibility for the construction, and use of your bait launcher.***

Step 1: Parts and Supplies

Parts for bait launcher are listed in the photo provided - except:

2 - 3/4" to 1 1/4" 45º PVC Elbows (depends on the leg size you use)

2 - 1 1/4" to 3/4" PVC Reducers (if you use 3/4" PVC for legs. The average 3" Tee will have 1 1/4" sides)

4 - 2" to 1" Threaded PVC Reducers

3 - 1" Dia PVC Sch 80 Nipples

1 - 2" PVC Coupling

1 - 3" PVC Coupling (if you cant get a 3" to 2" PVC Reducer)

4 to 6 - 2" PVC Caps (for frozen bait tubes)

1 - 6' piece of 2" PVC (for bait tubes)

4 to 6 - water bottle tops (as seen in video)

Air Compressor I use in this build:

To launch the bait launcher you need an air compressor.

Air compressor can be a small vehicle tire air compressor that has a 250 psi rating. Purchased mine from Harbor Freight Tools for around $10, or a large air compressor.

Tools:

Screwdrivers Philips head, Flat head (might not need, but good to have on hand)

PVC Cutter or Hacksaw

Sandpaper (to smooth out cuts on PVC)

Pipe wrench or Channel Locks

Drill

**1/4" Drill bit (hole in 3" PVC Cap for pressure gauge)

**you might have to measure your gauges post to mount on PVC for right drill bit size. A 1/8" NPT Back, or 1/4" NPT Back are the standard connection sizes I found.

1/4" to 5/16" Drill bit (to drill a hole in the ball valve handle for leverage) - Optional

Supplies:

PVC Primer

PVC Medium-bodied Cement

Teflon Tape

Some type of pull handle for leverage on ball valve (leave that up to you)

Optional:

Laser gun (as you will see in video to use on un-welcomed busy bodies)

Towel (to wipe sweat away or use as a popper on others legs or back ;-) whichever works for you)

Step 2: Video...
