Introduction: DIY || Clap Automated Electric Car || Without Arduino

Here, I am going to show you how to make a Clap Controlled Car without using Arduino, but by using IC 4017.

It's a car whose forward and backward movement can be controlled by a Clap.

This project is based on Clap ON - Clap OFF Circuit which is rendered to control the car using couple of relays.

It uses the ability of current to toggle between pin 2 and 3 of IC 4017 (on clapping) to be utilized in controlling the Car. Initially, one relay is active which moves the car in one particular direction; Giving a Clap activates the other relay which will make the Car to move in opposite direction.

Step 1: Materials Required

To make this Car, we require:

• IC 4017

• Relay 6V (2)

• Condenser Microphone

• Transistors – BC 547 (4)

• Resistors – 1K Ω (2), 100K Ω

• Diode 1N4007 (2)

• Motor with Gear

• Switch

• Batteries 9V and Battery Clips (3)

• Wires

• PCB

• Quartz Clock’s Hour Hand Gear

• Pen’s Refill (2)

• Bottle Caps (4)

• Straws (2)

• Cardboard

• Paper

• Marker

Major Tools required:

• Soldering Iron and Solder Wire

• Hot Glue Gun

Step 2: Circuit Diagram

This circuit is basically the extension of Clap ON - Clap OFF Circuit.

You can also make the circuit using IC 555, but it will require one more Relay. For more details of that circuit check out : https://www.instructables.com/id/Two-Clap-ON-Clap-...
