About: Anaisa Franco, 1981. In 2014 she got the Edith Russ Haus prize for emerging new media artists and got Emare-Eman prize to do a residence at Creative and Cognition Studios in Sydney and she also did a residence…

The project has many steps:
1) Develop the software application
2) Develop the cover for the interactive mirror.
3) Develop the illumination for the Interactive mirror

Step 1: Producing the Software for Gender Fluctuation

The software floats the sexual identity of the person, changing his voice and facial features masculinizing or feminizing. The application was done with programming C++ and Max Msp.

The application was installed in the Surface Pro computer tablet. The camera process a facial recognition and map specific points of the face and change them so they can have a sense of identity change.

The microphone picks up the voice and change the tone from male to female and vice versa.

Step 2: Producing the Cover for the Computer Tablet

We did a cover for the computer tablet Surface pro using CNC machine in the shop Modulor in Berlin.
The material used was Dibond, which is an aluminum composite material (ACM) made of two pre-painted sheets of .012″ aluminum with a solid polyethylene core.

We did a drawing and then we cut the material in the cnc machine

Step 3: Preparing the Illumination of the Tablet

Now we prepare the lighting of the piece. We used led strip, where I cut the led in 3 to be able to make a circle around the tablet.
I used a power supply to turn on and off the leds and also I did a circuit using 10 batteries.

Step 4: Cutting the Acrylic for the Lighting

To protect the lights we cut an acrylic in an oval shape using the cnc machine.
The acrylic is white translucid.

Step 5: Assembling

We assemble the piece and it is ready to present.

Step 6: Presenting

The work was presented in Madrid ARCO Art Fair
