Introduction: Easy Follow Me Eyes

Here's another MonsterTutorials.com DIY Halloween project!

Make sure to watch the attached video tutorials.

In this tutorial we'll make super easy and fast eyes that follow you. Use these for your props, spell books, or glue to practically anything. These would make awesome refrigerator magnets! Watch the video tutorial as well!

Tools and materials:

Small or large clear glass gems (glass drops from dollar store or floral/craft supply)

Paper irises (draw some irises or download online for free)

Red or burgundy colored yarn for capillaries (this is optional). About an inch will make a bunch of eyes.

Mod Podge or other clear drying glue

White paper

Step 1: Step 1

Cut out a pair of the printed irises and set aside

Using a brush, apply glue to the BACK of the glass gem. Make sure to cover the whole back.

Apply the cut iris face down on the glue and press down to remove any air bubbles.

Let dry.

Step 2: Step 2

Apply more glue and cover the back of the iris and the whole back of the gem so that the iris is now "decoupaged" to the back of the gem.

Fray or pinch out some of the red yarn and place on the back of the iris and gem. It doesn't matter if the yarn sticks out of the sides, we will cut these later.

Apply another layer of glue on top of the yarn so that it sticks completely to the back of the gem and is, again, "decoupaged" onto the glass gem.

Before this last coat of glue dries, place some white paper to cover the whole back of the gem. Press to remove any bubbles. This will be our "cornea". Let dry.

Once dry, just cut around the contour of the back of the gem! For more durable eyes, coat the whole back again with glue and let dry.

That's it! You now have eyes that follow you. Try them out...place them so they are facing you (on a prop or with a magnet on a refrigerator or other metal surface). Now walk around as see how the eye seems to be always looking at you!

This is perfect for all of your Halloween decorations and other haunted endeavours...It will add another layer of creepiness to your display.
