Electrically Releasable Adhesive

ElectRelease adhesives can be used to form high strength bonds between metal substrates.  Application of a low power current between the substrates releases the bond within seconds.  In the video, two aluminum bars, separated by spacers, are pinched together in the middle and bonded with ElectRelease-E3 epoxy.  An attached 50-volt battery pack rapidly releases the bond when activated.
