This "lamp" is made from a series of different objects, both collected over time and repurposed.

Step 1: Materials and Tools Needed

a lightbulb
trinkets

Step 2: Cut and Shape Your Wood

In order to get a basic shape for your lamp you will need:

one or more pieces of wood (based on preference)
a saw (to make any size adjustments)
a hole saw (to cut out your socket hole)

I was working with two pieces of wood. In order to mold them into one piece, I cut them to the correct shape using a saw and then added a support piece in the back portion of the two pieces attached with a screw. The support beam will help my piece stand properly later on, and connects the two pieces of wood. Once my two pieces were connected, I then went on to cut out a hole for my socket using a hole saw. I made sure to use a head that would cut out a 4 cm diameter hole, the general size for most sockets.

Step 3: Painting Your Wood (optional)

I chose to create a white background for my piece. I did this using:

a can of white spray paint
newspaper/a tarp

This step is fairly simple. Make sure you are in an open and well ventilated area and protect any surfaces around you by using newspaper or a tarp. Keep your strokes steady and try not to focus the paint in one area.

Step 4: Put Together Your Image

I chose to work around my bulb and socket and create a face. For this I used:

beads
feathers
a christmas tree branch
glass pieces
trinkets
a hot glue gun

Assembling the image is up to personal preference. I recommend laying out your materials and forming your face on a piece of paper first, then transferring each piece onto the wood using the hot glue gun. There's no right or wrong way to form the face.

Step 5: Putting in Your Socket

Once all your pieces have dried properly, you can go ahead and slip your socket through the hole. This process is fairly simple, once you have successfully attached your socket you can go ahead and add a lightbulb.

Step 6: Reviewing Your Final Product

Once you're done, go ahead a take a look at your finished piece. Plug the socket into the wall and make sure everything is working properly and add any finishing touches.
