Step 1: Collect Your Materials

The materials are simple - most you can find around the house.

-Construction paper - 5 or so colors

-Tissue paper - colors that match the construction paper, cut into squares

-Brown paper bag

-A pair of googly eyes (you could also just use white paper and draw the pupils on)

-Scissors

-Glue

-Pen, if needed to draw feather outline

Step 2: Prepare the Feathers

-Cut feathers out of the construction paper. You can do this simply by putting all of the pieces in a pile, and then cutting out one feather.

-Have your child sort the tissue paper into piles of similar color.

-Crumple up the tissue paper and match it to the feathers.

-Glue the tissue paper crumples on.

Step 3: Put It All Together

-Glue the feathers onto the back of the paper bag

-Glue the googly eyes onto the paper bag.

-Cut out two triangles and teardrop for the mouth and glue on.

-Enjoy your puppet!
