Materials:

• Mason Jar
• 2/3 Cup Water
• 1 Cup Vegetable oil
• 1 or more Alka-Seltzer tablet(s)
• 2 Glow Sticks
• Scissors or Knife

Time: Approx. 5 minutes

Step 1: Add Vegetable Oil

Add 1 cup of vegetable oil.

Step 2: Add Water

Add 2/3 cup water into the jar. Wait 30 seconds until the water has mostly settled to the bottom.

Step 3: Crack Glow Stick

Crack and shake one glow stick until it is completely lit up.

*Contents of glow sticks may be dangerous if ingested

Step 4: Cut Off Top of Glow Stick

Holding the glow stick upright, take scissors or a knife and cut off the top of the glow stick.

* Use caution when using scissors or knife.

Step 5: Empty Contents of Glow Sticks Into Jar

Empty contents of the glow stick into jar. Do not mix or stir.

Repeat steps 3-5 with the second glow stick.

Step 6: Add Alka-Seltzer & Watch

Drop one Alka-Seltzer tablet into the jar to give the jar the lava lamp effect.

Add another tablet after the first completely dissolves if desired.
