Introduction: Homemade 400 Psi Airgun

About: 17 Years old, doing a Masters in Professional Engineering (chemistry/mechanical) starting at UWA next year. I like designing and building things, as well as competitive archery

15.5 mm Bore, 1:30 helical cut rifling, aluminum, brass and stainless construction.. Calculated at mach 1.2 with hydrogen at 400 psi. Main ammunition are marbles..

Barrel: 15.5mm x 1.2m, 1:30 rifling (ammo; wadded marbles)
Chamber: 15.5mm x 80cm
Operating pressure: 120-400 psi
Blowgun porting, male QD for filling, with a built in internal check valve
Semi-bullpup configuration

I made a hand pump for it, which will easily reach 400+ psi, but takes far too long to bring the gun to pressure. So I'm going to buy a 260 psi track pump and use that..

Any questions? By the way I'm going to make a nice handle for it..

Nice! I am building one with a QEV valve too. My tank is a bit bigger because it is 1 1/2 inch steel pipe.

Using such high pressure with a QEV will break it.

    Aaaaaaaawwwwwwweeeeesssssssoooooooommmmmmeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

hand pump????? more info PLEASE and how did you  rifle your pipe

oh, and dogzinhood, the trigger is a blowgun, you can find it at your local lowes of harbor freight (local hardware store)

what is the valve, ive made everything but the valve, and i need to find out what the valve thinfd is, and i even have a rifled barrel, please help!!!

this is amazingly awesome. make an ible. does the rifling actualy improve accuracy?? i want to make a metal air gun, but its hard to get an affordable instant relese valve that can handle the pressure and has a opening size of ore than a 1/2 inch. any ideas?

that is one of the cleanest cannons ever! Got videos/instructions?

I'd like to try putting this together, any schematics for this available yet?? where can i get the exact materials?

you should make in instructable or guide on how you make it, thats really cool
