Introduction: How to Use Canva to Make a Background Transparent

Canva is a free tool that anyone can use for simple designs as an alternative to Adobe Photoshop. Canva is preloaded with templates that are designed by Canva designers. They also provide free graphics and allow users to upload their own to create specific content.

To make a transparent image, it is very simple and easy using Canva.

Step 1: Create Visual, Select Layer

The first thing you will do is find the type of content you want to layer. This way you will have a couple different options for making the background transparent.

Then you select the item that you wish to make transparent like this white text box. Select the item and you will see an arrow popup to the right. The arrow is a menu that will give you a couple options, including the option to adjust the transparency.

Step 2: Adjust the Background Transparency

After you select transparency from the drop down menu, Canva will give you the option to adjust how transparent you want the image to be on a scale of 1-100. Select the level of transparency you like.

Step 3: Move Transparent Background Over Layer

When you have the level set, you are ready to move your image. Move the transparent image on top of the image you like. You are now ready to save your design.
