If you're trying to multiply a number with a zero in it, eg 705 x 14, you can draw the zero as a line, to help draw he pattern, but draw it in a different color and don't count any of the line crosses on this line. Then go ahead and calculate the answer as normal.

Larger numbers can also be calculated using the same principle if you follow the same rules.
