Introduction: LedCap

This is LedCap.

A cap that reacts on loud sound(music). You can also change the brightness of the leds and change the color of the leds!

For this project you will need:

Supplies

Supplies:

1x Raspberry PI (model B) + 4GB SD card

1x 8x32 led matrix display

1x Adafruit piTFT

1x Soundsensor

1x Arduino UNO rev.3

1x warmthsensor(DS1820)

1x Pack gorilla tape

1x Snapback cap

1x Breadboard

A couple of jumpwires

Step 1: Building the Circuit

Here you have the files on how to build the circuit.

(Breadboard & Elektronic)

Step 2: Database

This is the database. Usable to keep track of the sensors.

Step 3: Wireframes & Design

This is the idea I brainstormed for my website and also the design for the website.

Included the adobe XD file.

Step 4: The Code (frontend)

Here in this RAR-file you have everything you need to open up your website.

Also a link to my Github.

The frontend is written with HTML&CSS connected with javascript.

Step 5: The Code (backend)

Here in this RAR-file you have everything you need to get data from the website to your backend.

Also a link to my Github.

The backend is written in Python 3.5. The frontend is connected to the backend via sockets.

Step 6: The Code (ARDUINO)

Here in this RAR-file you have everything you need to get data from the backend to your arduino.

Also a link to my Github.

The arduino code is used to take the serial data from python and transform it to something physical on the led matrix!

Step 7: The Housing

After everything is connected and programmed it is time to check for the housing.

I took the ledmatrix and i measured how big it was and made a papertemplate of it.

Next up i put the paper template in the cap and marked the edges.

Afterwards i cut the marked edges in the form of the matrix with a pair of scissors.

Then i took some gorilla tape and taped the matrix to the cap.

And there you have it. A led cap!

Step 8: The Finishing Touch

Run your python script and choose a word to display on the cap!

And there you have it a ready to party ledcap!
