Introduction: Paper Minecraft Automata

About: I am a Christian teenager who enjoys inventing and creating things! ๐Ÿ˜€ Some of my many interests: ๐ŸฆŽ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ“—๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

This is my first instructable.

We will making a Minecraft paper automata. Lets get started!

For this project you will need:

  • Access to a printer
  • Card stock
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Small washers or coins (Optional: For weighting pieces)
  • Xacto knife (Optional: For cutting out small middle pieces)
  • Cutting mat (Optional)
  • Tweezers (Optional: For gluing small pieces)

Note: In some of the pictures the lever was cut differently than normal because I was still prototyping (there's one bend not two).

Step 1: Print

Time to print! Use the template attached and print!

Step 2: Cut

Next cut out all the pieces. Use an Xacto knife to cut out the small pieces. Watch out, don't cut yourself!

Step 3: Fold

Fold them in, and then fold them out half way. All the folds are inward, so it should be simple. DO NOT glue them yet!

Step 4: Glue

All the parts you glue are marked in orange. DO NOT glue the grass lid down or glue the TNT block too the grass block yet. Glue the lever base plate onto the hole in the side of the grass block. Look at the pictures for better understanding.

Optional: Before gluing the top of the creeper you can place a penny or small weight inside. This will make the lever go down automatically (unlike in Minecraft).

Step 5: The Lever

Now this is the tricky part. Put the lever through the holes in the lever base plate and grass block. Then have the lever go through the top of the grass block. When the lever is in place glue the lid of the grass block in place.

Step 6: TNT

Put glue around the bottom of the TNT block. Pull the lever through the hole in the bottom of the TNT block.

Optional: You could try to weigh down the lid with a coin.

Step 7: Creeper

Now glue the bottom of the creeper to the lever.

Step 8: Your Done!

Now you can push the lever down to make the creeper pop out! I hope you enjoyed this project, it took a lot of experimenting to make the template. Please vote for my Instructable for the Paper Contest if you like it!
