About: although i am a science student, i love every form of art. i love working with paper and enjoy making quilled artworks. do follow me on Instagram @paper.personified for more updates.

In this tutorial I'm gonna share how to make quilled parrots..

Step 1: WHAT YOU NEED...

quilling tool
quilling stencil
scissor
glue
colored paper strips
cardboard and cloth (to make frame)

Step 2: MAKING THE PARROT...

Take a sketch of any bird of your choice. I have taken parrots.
Using the sketch as stencil join the quilled pieces. ( you can scale it up according to your wish.)
I have used 3mm strips. I cut it from A4 paper.
I started with the head of the parrot and worked towards tail.
I have used eye shaped quilled pieces to make the parrot.
Keep in mind that you need to make both the parrots separately in order to make it 3d.

Step 3: MAKING OF THE FLOWERS...

To make one flower you need five petals.
I have used tear drop quilled shape to make the petals. ( you can find various shapes of quilling on the net.)
To make the centre of the flower, take 1cm strip and leaving 3mm on one side, put fine cuts on the strips ( as shown in picture) and roll it. Join the petals to make flower.

Step 4: MAKING OF THE LEAVES...

To make leaves, I have used petal shaped quilled pieces. First roll a strip into petal shape and roll black strip around it once. (as shown in picture). You need to join 8 such pieces to make one leaf.
I have made different colored leaves to make it attractive.

Step 5: ASSEMBLING THE PIECES...

First take a cardboard of appropriate size and cover it with blue cloth.
To make the branch, stick brown colored strips spirally.
Then place the parrots over the branch in proper position.
And stick the flowers and leaves as per your wish.

Step 6: FINAL RESULT..

The result will be something like this...
