Introduction: School Filter Bypass. NO PROXIES!!!

This instructable will show you how to easily get around a pesky school filter. This is best if you are on your laptop using a wireless connection. This is the perfect way to watch youtube during class instead of taking your notes or watching it at lunch which would be better on your grades. I have only done this on Windows XP so I don't know if it will work on Vista.

Step 1: Control Panel

As the title for this step suggets, you go to the Control Panel of your computer.

Step 2: Network Connections

Now you will go to Network Connections and right click on the wireless network. Select Status.

Step 3: Where to Go

Now, go to Properties, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. On the screen that comes up click on Advanced. Under Default gateways click on Add.

Step 4: What to Do

Now, you will type in 192.168.1.200 The decimal points will be there by default. Instead of 200, you could put 249. I don't know what the difference is but either one will work, or at least on the wireless network at my school. After typing this in, click on Add.

Step 5: After All That

After that is done, you can click all the Oks and Closes and you may or may not need to reboot your computer. It should take effect immediately but sometimes you have to reboot for it to work.
