What Inspired me?

If you have read a few of my other Instructables, I always say the same thing. I say I love using weird materials for projects where their practical/ physical features arnt really needed such as concrete and metal.

Another thing you might have noticed I up cycling is definitely a huge part my life. Seeing one thing that others title as rubbing and creating it into something beautiful and useful. This is going to save alot of lives in the future, not this exact project but like minded projects.

What will you need?

- A Tin (baked bean can)

- Something thin and sharp such as a push pin or nail

- A candle

- A hammer

- Thin 0.75mm wire

- A sink full of hot soapy water

- Pliers

Step 1: Cleaning the Tin

Step one - Cleaning the tin

When the contents has been removed, use warm soapy water to get rid of most of the liquid left on the sides. If you are finding it difficult you can use a sponge to remove the stains.

Remove the graphics around the tin using warm soapy water whilst scrapping it off using the sponge or brush.

I used some solvent cleaner to remove the sticky marks on and around the can as I didn't want any mucky marks appearing when completing the project.

Step 2: Creating the Handle Holes

This is quite an easy step but because you are using such a sharp object, it is also really dangerous. Use the pin to mark into the can anywhere below 10mm. When this is done, place the pin on the spot. You can either gently tap it with the hammer until it falls I to place, or just push down on it, casing it to fall into the hole.

Now, look at the birds eye view, and insert the wire into the first hole, and line it up 90degrees with your hole. This will show you round about where the next hole needs to be. When you know roughly the area where the hole needs to be, then marl on using your pin, making sure its below 10mm. Push the pin all the way through.

Use a screw driver that is slightly bigger then the holes to increase its diameter so the wire can move freely and can be turned hoe ever the user wants it.

Mark on 15mm from one end of your sure and using your pliers, bend this 90 degrees. Slider the bent part into one handle hole on the tin before bending it so its parallel to the other bit of wire via pliers

There isn't really an instructions on where to hate your holes, just randomly stab the pin where ever you like. Make patterns, or shapes, names or logos. Its completely up to you what you do and how you do it.

This will secure the wire in place. Using something circular, bend the wire around the circular object and then insert the end of the wire into the other hole, snip off anything you dont need after you bend the wire in place.

Step 5: Finishing

Light the candle and then insert the candle slowly and carefully. This is quite dangerous so if you're younger then 15, get someone older to do it.
