How to Tie a Double Windsor Knot

Here's are the step by step process of tying a tie.

Step 1: Selecting a Tie

The first step is selecting a tie of your choice, it is recommended that the tie you've choose goes with the outfit you prepared for the day.

Step 2: First- Flipping Collar/ Place Around Your Neck

First Step: Flip you shirt collar upward and bring the tie around your neck.

Step 3: Measuring

Start with the wide end ("W") of your necktie on the right, extending about 12 inches below the narrow end ("N") on the left. 

Step 4: The Cross Over

Then cross the wide end over the narrow end.

Step 5: Loop It

Bring the wide end up through the loop between the collar and your tie.

Step 6: Wrap It

Then bring the wide end back down.

Step 7: Pull It Through the Loop

Pull the wide end underneath the narrow end and to the right, back through the loop and to the right again so that the wide end is inside out.

Step 8: Right to Left

Bring the wide end across the front from right to left.

Step 9: Up and Through

Then pull the wide end up through the loop again.

Step 10: Down and Through

Bring the wide end down through the knot in front.

Step 11: The Pull-Up

And -- using both hands -- tighten the knot carefully and draw it up to the collar.
