This is my first instructable on something simple. How to make a pen with a motor on the back. Makes cool designs.

Step 1: Get All Parts

You need just a few things for this project.
1 a little motor of some kind ( i used one from an old cd player)
2 Electrical tape
3 A pen or 2 i prefer the liquid ink ones to roller balls but they both write nice
4 some kind of case for batteries or just tape a battery to the pen
5 Something to weigh on the motor ( i used a capacitor from the cd player)

Step 2: Prep Motor

pick motor type and clean the wires

Step 3: Pick a Switch Any Switch

find the type of switch that will work best for you i used a simple on off one but i was thinking to put a pressure switch in the bottom of the pen by where you hold it when you write. and then connect it to one side of the motor i used it on the - side.

Step 4: Attach Weight to Motor and Motor to Pen

Attach a weight to the motor like i said i used just a little capasitor you can use anthing. Then figure out the best way to attach it to the motor. after put the motor on top part of the pen.

Step 5: Add Batteries

put the batteries in a convenient way to use pen. i used this pack for AAAs to get more power and rechargeable for obvious reasons

Step 6: Enjoy the Pen

you can experiment with different motors and also in different positions then move where you hold the pen up and down and lose or tight to get different sizes of circles. Also try different types of weights to make it more fun.
