Introduction: Zipper Purse

About: I like to make things for the internets. I also sell a pretty cool calendar at supamoto.co. You'll like it.

A zipper purse is a purse made only of zippers. You can open it from any of the 10 different zippers it's made from. It's not the most comfortable thing around, but it's funny and easy to make.

I saw one of these in a store and even as someone who's pretty unskilled on a sewing machine I figured I could make one pretty quickly as a present for my wife. If you already know your way around a sewing machine, that's probably the case. As for me... well, the next time will be faster.

Thanks to scoochmaroo for showing me what a zipper foot is.

Step 1: Get Zippers

Find an even number off identical zippers. I made my zipper purse out of 10, but you can use more. You can also use longer or shorter zippers if you want.

Step 2: Start Sewing

All you have to do is line up the zippers and start sewing them together. A zipper foot on the sewing machine makes this much easier.

Step 3: Keep on Going

Sew all of the pieces together.

Again, make sure that the zippers are lined up when you're putting them together.

The results should look like the two pictures below.

Step 4: Close It Up

Now you're going to make a cylinder out of the zipper sheet by sewing the two ends together.

I know it's been fun so far, but now you can make scary looking zipper squids! Yeah!

Step 5: Sew the Ends Closed

Flatten out the zipper tube so that the pairs of zippers are up against each other.

Sew the ends up and your sewing is done!

Step 6: Turn It Inside Out

Unzip one of the zippers and turn the purse inside out so that all the sewn bits are now on the inside.

Poof! You're done!

Now that your need for making something has been satisfied, give it away as a present.
