Introduction: Ipod/mp3 Player Dock for 2

this is my cheap and easy to make docking station.it is made from a cardboard box(shoe box), cheap £1 speakers and some knex.

you will need:
.duck tape
.scissors
.screwdriver
.cheap speakers
.some knex(optinal)
.shoe box (or cardboard box)
.a pair of compases
.a pencil

Step 1: Preparing the Speakers

you will need to remove the casing from the speakers. i have already done this but all you need to do is take the screws out and pull the case apart.

Step 2: Making the Holes for the Speakers

you will need to measure your compas so it makes a circle about 5mm smaller than the speaker all round. this is so when you put the speakers inside the box they won`t fall out. mark where you want your circles with your compas then cut them out with the scissors or keep making lots of holes with your screwdriver.

Step 3: Putting the Speakers in the Box

open up the box and place your speakers over the two hols you cut out. use duck tape like shown in the picture to keep them in place.

Step 4: Tidy Up the Wiring

at the top of the box make a small hole with your screwdriver and put the 3.5mm jack in place so the metal bit sticks out the box and secure with duck tape. now use duck tape to stick all of the wiring down so that it dosent move about as shown in the picture.

Step 5: Adding a Mp3 Player/ipod Holder

use knex to do this. you will have to make it fit your type of ipod because the one on my dock is for a 4gen touch.

Step 6: Plug Your Ipod/mp3 Player in and "BLAST DA BEATS"

yey it is ready to use. you can customise the look of your dock by painting it, covering it with wallpaper or even drawing on it. you can make it look like whatever you like.
