In the Janka hardness scale, oak is scored between 1220-1335. I cannot find a score for pear, but cherry scores at 950 and walnut is 1010. You could use pear, but I would be careful not to let it burn too long as you're risking burning it up. Any type of wood from a fruit tree should impart a good flavor in what you're cooking.

I would use whatever I needed to in order to get the fire going. I believe this day there was some dried grass available to get the fire going. Paper or any other kindling would work to get the fire going long enough to catch the wood on fire.
View Instructable »You can use any container that you would be able to start the fire in and then snuff it out. This could be done by digging a hole in the ground and burning the wood in it if you need to.

Did you miss the frame in 2 of the seat slats? It looks like 2 of the screws are sticking outside the frame.

I am very interested in making this project, but on the full size scale (65" x 15"). How do you suggest I go about trying to draw up the plans for the full size project?
View Instructable »The issue isn't necessarily with printing the size. If need be I can have plans printed in larger size at a print store. The issue is these plans are for a shelf almost half the size. I would need to change all the measurements, but of course don't really know what to change them to.

What length did you use for your handle for a mallet this size?

How long was your handle? I was planning on making this build this weekend and then realized I don't really know how long you made your handle.

I can't seem to make my car go. I've got everything going, but when I try to use the app all it seems to do is turn on and off the blue light on the NodeMCU board. V0 & V2 will turn the light off while V1 & V3 will turn it back on. What can I try to make the car go?

A simple Arduino Pro Mini with an HC-SR501 motion detector could be added to trip the lights. That would flip her out!

I really liked this box. I haven't put these together into a cohesive project yet, but I have got them all working. Super cool!

What happens when I get the 'No such file or directory' error when doing step 3-A? I've tried all different combinations of the driver name. It will initialize wpa_supplicant, but then it won't open the config file telling me there is no such file or directory. :'(

Great ible! I've been looking to make a forge and something better than a coffee can forge. This might be up my alley.
I'm definitely going to try this. I've already reworked the file to fit my CNC and made it larger. I plan on making the "key" out of wood so that will be a trial and error job. Thanks!
