Ian Bagley was born in 1961 in Lancashire and educated at Rainford High School and the University of East Anglia where studied American Literature and History under the tutorlage of Malcolm Bradbury and Professor Harry Allen following courses in post-Modernism, Colonial American Literature, the American Civil War and Westward Expansionism in addition to the Indigenous People of America.
