I grew up in a small town called Nikiski, Alaska, south of Anchorage by about 3 hours. I spent most of my youth taking things apart, and mostly ignoring my engineer parents' pleas that I should learn to put them back together. Over time I learned the value of putting stuff back together, mostly because I didn't like being surround by a pile of broken objects.
