I have always loved the interface between the machine-like aspect of living things, and an increasing tendency for machines to act in a life-like way. As a result, I have been involved in computational biology and robotics research for my whole career, ranging from the development of algorithms for predicting protein structure to the development of autonomous interacting robot colonies.
