Fill a cotton sock with rice, and tie the open end. Keep it in the freezer for use as an ice pack on sore muscles. Or microwave it for a minute, or so, for the same use.Got a knotted muscle on your lower back? Put a tennis ball in a sock, holding the sock over whichever shoulder, dropping the ball to the point of the knot, and lean against a wall. The sock helps in positioning the ball where the pressure is needed.

Love this! I also like the idea (mentioned in another comment), of embroidering the starting board layout on the bag - that would not only remind players of the beginning set up, but also label what is in the bag.I'm trying to think of ways to weight it down for windy days. Maybe add stitching around the outside edges, when stitching it together, to create tubes in which to add BBs or rice, or some other smallish something... Hmmm...
- calichigal commented on zoerainbows's instructable Simple Crochet SnowflakeView Instructable »
Love this! I am new to crochet, so the simpler the better. I really want to make this!I am confused about one thing. On the last round (Step 3), you have "after chaining to every new gap." I think of chain stitches as not attached, such as the chains to create the first stitch in a new row of double crochet, or the ones creating the little points of your snowflake. I am already familiar with using a slip stitch to go from one gap to another. Looking at your pictures, it looks more like you used a slip stitch to go from one gap to another. However, as a new crocheter, I may be just totally confused. Please help.

Why didn't I think of that?!?! Great idea! I use a mortar and pestle to grind my son's medications (he gets them through a stomach tube), which can be messy as the bits of pills are always jumping out of the mortar.

Thank you for posting this! I am fairly new to pin loom weaving, having gotten a 4-inch Zoom Loom in the spring. I am just now getting comfortable enough to try different weaving patterns. The only squares I have joined, so far, were two to make a pin cushion to hold my 6-inch weaving needle, and my tapestry needle, while I work with my loom - used crochet. I will be trying this out, for sure!

- calichigal commented on inventhouse's instructable Easy Sturdy Cord Winders
This is a great idea for organizing and recycling all at the same time. We already use toilet paper tubes for organizing smaller extension cords and other cords. These will be a great option, since they will store a little more flat, and I can see making them different sizes for different needs. Should work well for organizing stuff in the camper, too. I might try cutting a slit at each end for tucking the ends into.

How can I not vote for a real hoagie?!?! This brought back fond memories. I grew up in Willow Grove PA, and LOVE hoagies. There is something about the rolls made up there that is part of what makes them taste so good - and is lacking in the ones around here (central Texas). A friend that still lives up there told me that Amaroso's tried to open a bakery in either AZ or NM, and the rolls just didn't taste the same. My fond memories include our church youth group selling hoagies as a fund raiser for a retreat - and we gathered and made them assembly-line fashion.

I had no idea! I've not really looked at these, but saw in a Facebook RV group that some people use them in their RVs, but no one said anything about baking in them. I might have to take a closer look, now, since my RV has no oven - it just has a microwave and stove top. One of these might be just the addition I need. (And, maybe, an icemaker).

- calichigal commented on Ham-made's instructable 16-Page Disposable Notebook EDC
I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one who doesn't like to desecrate notebooks/sketchbooks by actually using them. I am also a big scrap of paper user, mostly recycling received envelopes or any other sheet of partially used paper. And yes, they're everywhere. This is a great idea, as is the one suggested by a couple of other commenters, which ends up more like a booklet. Each has its place and use. I'll be sharing this one with my husband, who is also a note jotter and list maker.

Perhaps I will endeavor to fill 1 page each day with something. Anything. Just see what happens.Janice:o)

So enjoyed this Instructable! My grandfather used to make his own nets - hoop nets I think they were called. He caught catfish on Cane River Lake, in Natchitoches, LA. When I was in high school, he taught me how to knit them (he called it knitting). It has been so long that I don't remember, so I am super happy that you posted this! He also made his own shuttles and gauges, both out of hickory. I have some of them. By the way, other things he made for family members with his net knitting skills: hammocks, plant hangers, and market bags (shopping bags).
