  • How to Talk to Someone Using Ham Radio

Yes, the pamphlet that passes for a manual on the earlier BaoFengs is rubbish. There's a ton of information on the web, though. Best source for info on most of the inexpensive Chinese radios, including BaoFeng, is found at www.miklor.com, including a much better manual for the UV-5R.The newer BaoFengs, like the BF-F8 or UV-82, come with excellent, completely rewritten manuals, as well as better build quality and antennas. I still highly recommend them.
