Tell us about yourself!
Yes this sculpture is solid bronze. Creating a hollow piece requires additional steps in the model making stage. You would need to make a rubber mould of the original (instead of casting organic material as I did here), and then cast that mould with wax. Fill the mould to the brim with wax, then pour it out, leaving a coating on the walls (you can also pour in a small quantity and swirl it around to cover the walls, but this can get messy and the wax is hot). Repeat this process until you achieve your desired thickness (you'll want this to be fairly substantial in order to cast cleanly), and then continue with your shelling process. Large models can be broken into multiple pieces, TIG welded together after casting, and then chased clean in order to create large hollows.
