The American Civil War, fought among the Union and Confederate forces, took location from 1861 to 1865. During the war, many different weapons were used on each sides. These weapons incorporate edged weapons including knives, swords, and bayonets, firearms like, rifled-muskets, breech loaders and repeating weapons, numerous field guns such as artillery, and new weapons like the early grenade and machine gun.
