Introduction: Olive Harpoon Gun

This is a neat little 'gun' to help get those pesky olives, or most other things, out of the bottom of the jar.

id like to give some credit to kargod for his instructable which gave me inspiration to make this:

https://www.instructables.com/id/The-Best-Damn-Pen-Shooter-Period./

basicaly, mine is the same, except different ammo and a trigger which i havn't seen on any other small shooter things.

Step 1: Materials

for this you will need:

an old pen
some tape
a wooden kebab skewer
an elastic band
2 paperclips
some pliers
and a knife

Step 2: Main Body

I made this a while ago, and just found it again while moving house so i havn't got any pictures of me actualy making this sorry. if you are having problems please leave me a comment and i'l try to help

also this step is the same as 2-3 in
https://www.instructables.com/id/The-Best-Damn-Pen-Shooter-Period./

basicaly, dismantle the pen to get the outer tube; for mine, this is all you'll need from the pen. i used electrical tape to secure the band but you could use string, or another band

Step 3: Trigger

now time for my u.s.p.

the trigger is made from 2 paper clips (well, one and a half realy)
for the first paperclip, unbend one fold, and bend the tip backwards (see image)

for the second, unbend completely, make a small loop at one end which slips over the straightened side of the first, and cut roughly in half.

next tape this to the end of your pen tube when taping, you should only actualy be attaching the first paperclip, and do it so that the little tip is bending towards the center of the tube. (pictures hopefully explain better)

Step 4: Ammo

Cut the skewer in half, and carve a small barb about halfway up
***make sure that the barb is facing the same way as shown in the pic (its the one closest to my thumb)

optional

you can also carve a barb in the opposite direction closer to the sharp end to make sure the harpoon will stick in the olives.

Step 5: Loading, and Firing

To load, slide the harpoon into the barel from the back, and catch the part of the trigger sticking into the barrel on the second barb. then pull the elastic band so that its over the blunt end of the harpoon and is tight - if the band is slack move it closer to the front of the barrel.

To fire simply pull down on the second paperclip which should be hanging down; this moves the tip of the first just enough to pull it out of the barb and lets the harpoon fly!

**DISCLAIMER**

DO NOT EVER, EVER FIRE THIS AWSOME MACHINE OF DEATH AT ANY LIVING THING, AND ALWAYS BE SENSIBLE WITH THIS. REMEMBER "WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY"

enjoy :)
