Introduction: 10 Minute Tensegrity

This is the first time I am making a tensegrity. Just learned this simple one. Really took me 10 minutes to make this. Just used scrap wires and threads.

Step 1: Materials

2 stiff wires of same length.

Threads

Please ignore my makeshift multipurpose toolkit (nail clipper and pocket knife)

Step 2: Make the Frame

With the 2 wires make a triangular loop and an L shape extended from it.

Try to bend them together. This makes them identical.

Now flip one and by judgement try to set the height as you like.

Step 3: Threads

Attach (tie) 3 threads of same length on the 3 sides of the triangle.

Step 4: Connect the Frames

Tie the three threads to the triangle on the other frame. Now tie a thread to the two ends of both the ends. Make sure all the threads are stretched properly.

Slide the threads so that the whole of the system is in equilibrium.

Almost done.

Step 5: Finally

When you are satisfied with your thread alignment. Put a drop of super glue on each of the knots to make it stay in place.

Done! Show off your tensegrity.
