Introduction: 3 Hour Pork Ribs by Nick, Kasha, and Rick
My food science class had to make a recipe. My partners and I decided to do ribs. Today you will find out how we made ours, and hopefully, you can make them too! :)
Step 1: Ingredients
This is what we used for our dry rub:
- Ribs (We purchased Smithfield Pork Ribs, but beef would also be good to use.)
- 1 TB Coriander
- 2 TB Chili Powder
- 1 TB Cumin
- 1 TB Salt
- 1/2 TB Pepper
- 1/2 TB Seasoning Salt (We used Lawry's Seasoning Salt)
- 1/2 TSP Garlic Powder
We coated our ribs in: (optional)
- Liquid smoke (a very small drop)
- BBQ sauce (add to your liking)
- A1 steak sauce (add to your liking)
First, we ran our ribs under warm water and patted the ribs dry. Then we put them on a cookie sheet with tinfoil, so it catches most of the grease.
Second, we mixed our seasonings together into a bowl, preparing our ribs for a dry rub.
Then we dry rubbed our ribs, and then wrapped them in saran wrap overnight in the fridge.
After leaving it in the fridge overnight, we preheated the oven to 300 degrees. After cooking them for an hour, we mixed a bowl of A1 Steak Sauce, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce, liquid smoke, and brushed it on the ribs on both sides. The last hour of cooking, place tinfoil around the ribs. We cooked our ribs for 3 - 3.5 hours.
Take your ribs out of the oven, and brush them to your liking with the sauce. Prepare your ribs with any other of your personal favorite side dishes, and feast!
