The noise of the original E3D extruder fan has been driving me nuts. Having worked with MK8 extruders and 40mm fans, I know it doesn't have to be this loud.

Instead of designing some fancy rig that may or may not fit around the heat synch, I decided to create a simple adapter that will all a 40mm fan to be connected to the original E3D fan shroud.

I created the adapter in such a way that screw depth of the original fan (10mm) remained similar (9mm). If you still have them, simply use the 30mm screws to attach the adapter to the original shroud.

To download the entire model go to my GrabCad model

The model was created in Fusion 360 (and re-used the original shroud design from e3d-v6-hotend-3

to simply 3D print the adapter you can download the STL file attached with this instructable.
