3D Origami Triangles

I am going to make a few different 3D origami Instructables but first you need to know how to make all the little pieces that go together. They are very simple to make but when you have to make 1000 odd of them it is very time consuming. I normally make my pieces when I'm watching TV or reading a book.

Step 1: What You Need?

Scissors

Ruler

Pencil

Origami Paper. I normally use Durmaz Origami Paper which I just buy in a $2 shop. It has 120 sheets of assorted colours origami paper and each sheet is about 15cm x 15cm.

Step 2: Cutting Out the Pieces

To cut out the pieces get a sheet of paper and rule it up so that you can cut out approximately 12 pieces that are 3.5cm x 5cm. Its easier to show this in the pictures.

Step 3: Folding

I have tried to explain how you fold the paper below but it is much easier to just look at the pictures.

Get one piece of paper that you cut out.

Step 1: Fold it in half horizontally.

Step 2: Fold it in half again.

Step 3: Open up the last fold and notice the crease.

Step 4: Fold one side of the paper down so it runs along the edge of the crease.

Step 5: Do the same to the other side, bringing both sides together.

Step 6: Turn it over and fold one corner up to the triangle.

Step 7: Do the same to the other side.

Step 8: Fold one of the bottom parts up and over the triangle.

Step 9: Do the same to the other side.

Step 10: fold both sides together and turn over. The end result should look similar to the one in the picture.

Step 4: Use Them!!

Now just continue making more and more and use all the pieces you make to make 3D Origami.
