Introduction: 3D Printed Hanger for Bora Edge Clamp Saw Guide

I needed someway to hang my Bora Saw Guide out of the way, and I figured if I hung it on the inside of the garage door, it wouldn't take up valuable wall real-estate. I needed a way to keep it attached to the door, but not fall of when the door was opened. I saw this design on Printables.com for a track saw guide, so I modified it to fit my Bora Edge Clamp Circular Saw Guides.

The design for these saw guide hangers do not require any extra hardware. They clip together using the center pegs, then the rear and front caps snap into place to keep it together. The spinning latch turns to hold the guides in place, even when the garage door is opened.

I printed this on a Prusa Mini+ 3D printer using PETG filament.

Supplies

3D Printer of your choice - I used a Prusa Mini+

PETG filament (ABS or PLA can be used as well)

Screws (for mounting to your desired surface)

Step 1: Printed Parts

First, print the parts. I used PETG at .10mm layer height, 15% infill with gyroid pattern, with no supports.

Print one of each of the parts for each hanger. 2 Hangers will be required for each guide rail that will be hung. I had 2 sections, so I printed 2 pairs, or a total of 4 of each part.

  • (4) Rear Caps
  • (4) Spinning Latches
  • (4) Center Pegs
  • (4) Main Body
  • (4) Front Caps

Step 2: Assemble the Parts

Once the parts all all printed, assemble them by first inserting the center pin into the spinning latch, then insert the other side into the main body, until there is a click when the pin fits through the other side.

Next push the rear cap into the back of the main body so the tabs align with the center pin. Push the cap in until it fits snug and holds the center pin in place.

Do the same with the front cap by inserting into the spinning latch aligning the tabs with the center pin. Again, push the front cap in far enough to fit snug and hold the spinning latch in place.

Step 3: Mount Your Saw Guides

Mount the hangers on to the desired surface. They have countersunk screw holes, so use flat topped countersink screws. Using a level, ensure the brackets are level and parallel. Pre drill the holes with an appropriate drill bit for the screws used.

Screw the brackets to the desired mounting surface, 2 screws per bracket.

Ensure the spinning latch is rotated out of the way, then place the Bora Circular Saw Guides into the holders.

Spin the latches to the closed position, and there you have it, an out of the way place to store your saw guides!
