Introduction: 3D Printed Necklace Piece

A 3D Printed Cross for a necklace.

Step 1: Base Box

Insert a square shape into the Tinkercad workspace. Set the dimensions of the box to 3in x 3 in and 1in thick.

Step 2: Forming the Cross

Insert four more smaller squares, each 18mm x 17mm x 1in thick, perfectly into the corners of the larger square. This will leave the shape of a cross in the middle of the larger square.

Step 3: Creating Holes

In order for the 3D printer to be able to see the object as a cross and not one large box, the four smaller boxes must be selected turned into "holes" in the grid. This can be done in the options menu under shapes when selecting an object.

Step 4: 3D Printing

The next step is sending the design to the 3D printer for cutting. It must be saved and exported as an .stl file in order for the 3D printer to be able to read it. The 3D printer handles the rest.
