Introduction: 3D Printed Phone Holder | Easy to Make
So you want a cool phone holder but don't want to use programming or a raspberry pi.
Never fear, the Sci-Fi Computer Phone Holder thingy is here! I created the model and animations so they align and fit together. Watch the video to learn more! You might be thinking, will this fit my phone? It can! If your phone's screen is 5.3in then simply print and assemble. If your phone size is different, I created a very fast printing template so you can test different size scaling. For example, if you scale the template to 105% and that fits perfect, then print just the control panel to that same scale and it should fit your screen. I think this would work great as a movie prop or a good conversation piece at work.

Step 1: Materials
3D printed parts (keyboard, stand, and display)
A cell phone that can play YouTube videos
IC chips, 8 pin and 16 pin. (Optional for decoration)

Step 2: 3D Printing
If you have a 3D printer, then great! Go ahead and print the 3 parts, no supports and 20% infill.
If you dont have a 3D printer, you can search for websites like 3DHubs, so you can have people in your area with printers print it for you.
I recommend black filament but if not, you can always spray paint it black. I also sprayed a matte clear to dull the black filament to look like computer plastic.
Everyone's phone is slightly different. The screens are all the same ratio, 16:9. So all you have to do is 3D print the fast printing template and pull up the youtube video to see how it fits. If you end up scaling the template by like 105 percent and it fits perfect, then simply print just the front panel to that scale and it will match.
Step 3: IC Chips
This is to add to the realism and look like this thing actually works but it's just decoration.
You can find ic chips at most electronic hardware stores or easily at ebay or amazon. Clip off the legs and glue to the front panel. A thick craft glue or super glue should work great.
Step 4: YouTube Video
I will provide a link to the 1 hour video of the screen graphics. I recommend increasing your screens brightness all the way to enhance the effect but keep in mind that this may make the phone warm and lower the battery faster.
Step 5: Assembly
Place the phone with the YouTube video to rest on the 3D printed stand, position the keyboard to align infront, and place the front panel infront of the phone. That's it! You now have a cool looking conversation piece or an awesome movie prop to spice up your phone.
