Pumpkins are expensive and have to be rebought year after year. A 3D printed pumpkin can be used for years to come, and can have a design as complex as you want on it.

Supplies

3D Printer
3D rendering software (Tinkercad, or other sites)
Acess to multi

Step 1: The Start

Start by placing a sphere onto the grid.

Give the sphere a height of 20, a width of 41 and a length of 33.

You may make the sphere any size you want, but make sure that it is not a perfectly round ball, as the pumpkin will look too perfect.

Step 2: Creating the Pumpkin

Now, highlight the sphere you made in the previous step and hit the duplicate button. This button is found in the upper left hand. Drag the spheres, so that they overlap each other, as seen in the photo above.

Highlight the area around the two spheres and group them.

Next, highlight the two combined spheres and duplicate that. Click on the angle button and drag it slightly to the side anywhere between 22.5 degrees, and 45 degrees. Repeat this step until the pumpkin has as many or as few segments as you would like.

Once the pumpkin is segmented as you please. Highlight the whole thing and group it all together.

Step 3: Changing the Color

Click on the base of the pumpkin, and change the color as you please. I chose to go with a classic pumpkin and made mine orange.

Step 4: Creating the Stem Base

Next place a cylinder on the grid system.

Make the cylinder, change the color of the cylinder to green from there change its measurements. The height of this cylinder should be 1, and the width and length should be 5.

Step 5: Creating the Stem Handle

Drag a second cylinder onto the grid, and change it to the same color.

The height of this cylinder should be 5, the width and length should be 3. For this, you should turn the bevelment and the segments all the way up.

Place the stem handle on top of the step base; it should be off-center and too one side, and not dead center.

Highlight the item and group it together.

Step 6: Finishing the Stem

Now duplicate the item, and put it, so that the two overlap, like they did for the base of the pumpkin. Group it as an item.

Now duplicate the item from the previous step, and turn it slightly.

Repeat duplicating and turning until the step is to your pleasing.

When it is done, highlight the whole thing and group it.

Step 7: Placing the Stem and "Carving"

To place the stem raise it to the height of your pumpkin, and set it in the middle. Lower the step slightly, so that it goes inside of the pumpkin. Highlight the whole area, and group it. Now highlight the whole thing and click on color. Check the box that says multicolored.

For the "carving" of the pumpkin, two things can be done, you can make your own face/design, or you can find a design you like online and use that.

I chose to put the spider from Spiderman on my pumpkin. I found the design on tinkercad from a different user.

Once the design was imported into my grid, I shrunk it down to the size I wanted it to be, and lined it up with my pumpkin. For this be careful to check a front view, side view and top view to make sure it is actually alined.

Next click on the design you chose and turn it into a hole. Once it is on, highlight the area and group it. Check to make sure that you like how it looks.

The final step is to print it out, and use it to decorate your home.

Introduction: 3D Pumpkin
