Introduction: 3d Rifle Puzzle

I wanted to do something a little different for a change and this puzzle told me it had to be made. (Ya sometimes inanimate objects talk to me :) )

Step 1: I Used

I used a print-out of a rifle, scroll saw, drill and 3/4" pine

Step 2:

I printed out a picture of a rifle that I doubled in size to make it big enough, taped it to the pine board and used graphite paper to trace it out. cut out the rifle and the inside of the trigger guard and sand the edges to round them a bit

Step 3: Cutting the Puzzle

I drew lines that more or less looked like the edges of puzzle pieces and scroll saw cut those out. As far as the bi-pod I just drilled a 1/4" hole in it to glue in a 3/4" long dowel and a matching hole in the bottom of the barrel. Only sand the rough edges caused by the blade so the shape of the pieces don't change. You can see in pic 3 that the pieces are a bit loose because of the kerf of the blade but I used a few coats of polyurethane and it built up enough to make the pieces almost too tight. Once I slid the pieces together a few times it worked perfectly
