Want to make a knife but don’t have a forge? Now you can with an old street sign.

Step 1: Making the Billet

Go to your vice and bend your sign in it. Then put it under something heavy.

Step 2: Cutting

Cut your wood into a 4x5 inch board roughly. Then cut the small piece in half.

Step 3: Sanding

Sand the shape you want into the billet. And sand the sticker off the metal. And sand the wood down to fit the tang.

Step 4: Scales

Use a hand saw to cut the scales roughly to size of the tang.

Step 5: Drilling

Drill holes through both scales and tang then insert pins and epoxy it all together.

Step 6: Epoxy

Spread epoxy in the spaces between the tang and wait overnight for the epoxy to set.

Step 7: Lastly

Shape your handle to the way you like it. And sharpen your knife and your done!
